Aaron J. Babyar
Founder & President of Exago
Aaron felt called to full-time ministry at a young age and has faithfully followed that calling throughout his life. His journey has included serving in a variety of ministry settings including working as an Adjunct Professor, helping to plant two churches and many years in missions. From his experiences, paired with struggles and hardship, Aaron developed a deep passion for equipping and encouraging Kingdom Workers.
In response to this calling, Aaron and his wife, Marque, boldly stepped out in faith to serve those in ministry by founding Exago. Their vision was to create a ministry that empowers leaders to thrive in their calling and advance God’s Kingdom worldwide.
Founder's Story
A Note from Aaron J. Babyar, Founder & President of Exago
When Marque and I were married in 1994, we had already sensed a long-term calling to serve the Lord in Great Commission ministry. After stepping into full-time vocational ministry, we witnessed the joy of lives being transformed, people coming to Christ and growing through authentic evangelism and true discipleship. But we also began to experience deep stress and hardship. It was hard to explain, and even harder for others to understand. We were constantly surrounded by people, yet we felt increasingly isolated under the weight of leadership and responsibility. We poured ourselves out for others—exhaustively—but no one was pouring into us. Ministry was both a passion and, unintentionally, a threat to our spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical health. Like many, we loved God deeply and were grateful to serve Him. But the constant weight of organizational dysfunction in the ministry we were part of, combined with unsustainable expectations around time, energy, and finances, began to pull us under. We didn’t just feel exhausted; we felt like we were drowning.
Even though we still sensed God’s call, we quietly began to wonder if staying faithful in ministry meant sacrificing our health, our family, and our peace; none of which could be part of God’s design. At times, walking away felt like the only way to survive. But God, in His mercy, brought us resources and people who helped restore our perspective. Their presence was life-giving. Sadly, we realized that this kind of support was far too rare for others in Kingdom work. Over time, the Lord clarified a new direction for us: to come alongside and equip those passionate about the Great Commission as our primary calling.
Many in ministry are deeply committed to serving the Lord. They love Jesus, long to honor Him, and are doing their best to live on mission. But far too often, they find themselves discouraged, exhausted, and unequipped to endure for the long haul. Without the right kind of support and spiritual infrastructure, they risk burning out, fading away, or slowly stepping back from the very calling God placed on their lives.
But God intervened: and now we’ve devoted our lives to walk with, encourage, and strengthen our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ so they can not only survive, but truly thrive in the purpose God has given them. I deeply resonate with ministry leaders. I’ve felt the weight of making mission-driven decisions, stewarding limited resources, leading teams through uncertainty, and carrying a vision that others may not fully understand. I know the tension of wearing multiple hats while trying to stay anchored in purpose and faith.
Over the years, I’ve been privileged to train thousands of missionaries from hundreds of organizations. In more recent years, I’ve also discovered an increased passion for faith-based consulting, and chose to pursue a Ph.D. in Christian Leadership with an emphasis in consulting (projected graduation: 2026). That decision wasn’t born out of insecurity, but out of curiosity and conviction. I believe effective leaders should never stop learning. Though I’m confident in the gifts and experiences God has given me, I want to keep growing, questioning, sharpening, and refusing to assume I’ve already arrived.

By God’s grace, we survived that very difficult season. Some special people stepped into our lives, spoke truth in love, and guided us toward a healthier balance in ministry and life. Of course, there was more to the process, but God used that experience to ignite in us a passion to equip other kingdom workers and organizations to not only ‘survive’ but also ‘thrive.’

If you are reading this, you are probably what we refer to as a kingdom worker. Do you have trusted, qualified people equipping YOU to survive and thrive in life and ministry? Having a friend who will sometimes listen is valuable, but it’s not the same as having someone with the experience and skills to help you identify and address blind spots effectively. We pray that you have such support. However, if not, perhaps Exago or MySupportRaising can serve you through some of our incredible resources.
God Bless,

Marque and Aaron met when he was a senior in high school and she was a freshman in college. He went home and wrote her a ten-page love letter, eventually marrying three long years later. When it comes to their adult children and in-laws, some play Monopoly at Thanksgiving, and some don’t. The drama is amazing.

God led Aaron to decline offers to play college basketball and try out for a professional baseball team, but his love for sports remains strong. In recent years, he has stayed active through basketball, road biking, mountain biking, scuba diving, spearfishing, hiking, kayaking, stand-up paddle-boarding, and pickleball.
